"Incredible Bass Player and Composer"

 Alan Raw, (BBC Radio Leeds)

Nick’s playing style is rhythmical and melodic and typically exhibits deep "in the pocket" grooves..

His playing is solid and supportive, holding down the fundamental role of the bass… although his style can also be very expressive, approaching the bass like a lead instrument. His musical interest spans across a wide range of genres. Typically Nick can be heard playing, pop, rock, jazz, funk, blues and soul.

He is a solid and versatile musician, having started out playing classical guitar at the age of 8, Nick began to teach himself to play Electric guitar, before finding his passion in the Electric Bass. Alongside double bass, these are still his main instruments today.

Nick has performed at The Millennium Centre (Cardiff), Brecon Jazz festival (Brecon), Dokkhuset Scene (Trondheim, Norway) as well as having played on various international TV programs and independent films. He regularly plays at functions and corporate events and also plays as a pit musician at Theaters.

Nick’s compositions and studio productions have featured on BBC Radio (BBC Introducing) and on globally exhibited films, such as “Blood Shot, The Dreams and Nightmares of East Timor."

Nick studied Popular music at Leeds College of Music and has a degree in Jazz from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He is a very creative player and a great improviser; his studies helped him to develop his overall level of musicianship.

Nick has also worked for a number of years as a DJ and a promoter. He has played regularly in South Wales, performing alongside legendary acts including K Klass and playing at major club nights in the North of England such as The Mill.
